    Your conch questions

Which size should I choose for my silver-tone conch jewellery?

These guidelines are for choosing jewellery after your piercing has healed; your anatomy and the existing thickness of your piercing remain key factors.

    Size guide - conch
Jewellery / measurementGuideChoosing the right fit
Hoop Often 10 to 12 mmA larger diameter may be needed depending on the distance to the edge.
Stud / labret 6 to 8 mm wearable lengthMeasure according to the thickness of your cartilage.
Post thickness Often 1.2 mm; sometimes 1.6 mmKeep the same thickness as your existing piercing.

Measure the diameter inside the hoop and the wearable length of the post without the end. Jewellery that pinches or pulls should be reassessed with your piercer.

For more guidance, see our conch guide.

Measure across the centre of the circle, between the inner edges. The outer diameter includes the metal and is not the listed size.

Check the distance from your piercing to the outer edge without pulling on the cartilage. The thickness and angle of the piercing also matter: a close-fitting hoop should not leave a mark or compress your ear.

Download the hoop sizing template (A4 PDF)
Print at 100%. Check the 50 mm line, then compare with a hoop that already fits you.

Which jewellery should I choose for my conch?

A flat-back labret stud highlights the hollow of your ear; a hoop wraps around its edge. The choice mainly depends on your piercing's position and your anatomy. A light-catching design adds detail to the centre, while a smooth hoop creates a more defined line.

    Is this jewellery hypoallergenic?

Our piercing jewellery is made from hypoallergenic titanium. Our jewellery has undergone laboratory testing. You'll find the material, finish and dimensions on each product page to help you choose your piece with confidence.

Will the silver-tone or gold-tone finish suit me better?

Gold-tone brings warmth to your ear stack; the white-gold-coloured finish gives it bright, light reflections with a chrome-like appearance. This describes the colour: the base material is still titanium. A styling tip: bluish or purplish veins may point towards cool tones, while greenish veins may point towards gold-tone. It's a styling guide, not a rule: try both near your face in natural light.

How do I care for the white-gold-coloured finish?

For jewellery removed from a healed piercing, use lukewarm water and mild soap, then rinse and dry carefully. Avoid silver polish, abrasive products and stiff brushes. For a recent piercing, follow your piercer's aftercare advice without removing the jewellery.

Can I shower or exercise wearing your jewellery?

Yes, for healed piercings. Our titanium jewellery is resistant to rust and highly resistant to tarnishing. Its EverGold coating is designed to help preserve its shine and colour over time with everyday wear.

After showering or exercising, rinse your jewellery if necessary and dry it thoroughly. For activities where jewellery could snag or be pulled, choose a suitable jewellery arrangement.

Why choose titanium rather than 925 silver or stainless steel?

Hypoallergenic and nickel-free, our titanium is laboratory-tested. It is resistant to the darkening associated with 925 silver, resistant to rust and highly resistant to tarnishing. It is designed to retain its shine over time with everyday wear, including showering or exercising, when worn in healed piercings. After swimming in the sea, rinse your jewellery with fresh water and dry it thoroughly.

Is the piercing jewellery sold individually?

Choose piercing jewellery individually to build your ear stack freely. For earrings, check the product page to see whether the design is sold individually or as a pair.
